Nieto-Phillips speaks: In the past few years, you’ve faced many challenges, you’ve overcome obstacles, and yet you’ve persisted and you’ve succeeded. We are so happy for you. We know that your families, your loved ones, your communities—all are proud of you.

We are living in an unprecedented time. The pandemic that we’re experiencing has disrupted our lives, our relationships, our sense of community, our traditions. And yet, we want you to know that even though we can’t be with you physically to celebrate this milestone in your lives, that we are with you in mind, in heart, and in spirit.

Congratulations Class of 2020!

We hope that you will cherish the memories that you have of your time at IU Bloomington. We know that we’re going to come back together at some point to celebrate with you. We don’t know when that’s going to be, but we look forward to that moment.

Estamos orgullosos, queremos que se quieren en contacto con nosotros.

Stay in touch, be well, and soar.

Diversity—the foundation of excellence

As one of the nation’s leading research universities, IU Bloomington not only values the multiple perspectives that diversity adds to the learning environment, it also depends on diversity to achieve excellence in research and innovation. Diversity is foundational to scholarly inquiry and rigorous peer review that lead to new discoveries. In teaching and in research, diversity drives our success.

Established in 2017 as part of IU Bloomington’s Bicentennial Strategic Plan, the Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion partners with campus leaders to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus.

Our team works closely with the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs and the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs to create a learning community where all people are inspired to learn, innovate, and create.
